Es una creencia extendida en Mac y Linux que estos sistemas no necesitan antivirus porque “no hay virus para ellos”. Si bien esto podía ser cierto antes cuando el 99% de los ordenadores del mundo eran Windows, poco a poco deja de ser una realidad.
Cada día que pasa más usuarios descubren las maravillas de los sistemas no-windows y se atreven a migrarse parcial o totalmente a ellos. Evidentemente los creadores de los virus también se han dado cuenta de esto y crean programas nocivos para estas plataformas. Tanto es así que Apple ha empezado a parchear sus sistemas operativos ante estos ataques. Bichos como por ejemplo:
Por lo tanto, empieza a ser buena idea tener un antivirus para MAC OSX. Y por eso es tan buena noticia lo que hoy ponemos: Sophos ha anunciado el primer antivirus gratuito para MAC.

It’s an common beleive that neither Linux nor MAC systems need and antivirus because there’s just no virus created for them. This was true a few years ago when 99% of the systems were Windows bases, however, now more and more users are migrating to now-windows computers.
This trend is not only being noticed by IT staff, but also by the guys that create the viruses. So nowadays, more and more of these bugs are created.
Fortunately for MAC users, Sophos has just produced the first free home-user antivirus for the MAC OS X system. A great news for all Apple fans because it’s always better to be cautious and install an antivirus. You can see in the video above there’s already some MAC malware going around.
Try this…you’ll never regret having it but you might regret not having installed it!
